Attorney Barbara Aaron
Attorney Barbara Aaron is a partner in the law firm of Berman, Bourns, Aaron & Dembo.
Attorney Aaron practices exclusively in the area of Matrimonial Law, with an emphasis on mediation and collaborative practice. She works primarily with high net worth clients who seek to retain their privacy and resolve their cases in a confidential, respectful and efficient process. Attorney Aaron trains other lawyers, mental health and financial professionals in the use of mediation, negotiation and collaborative practice. She currently serves on the executive committee of the Connecticut Bar Association’s Family Law Section and is the current co-chair of the Hartford Family Law Committee.
Attorney Aaron is a life-time Fellow of the Connecticut Bar Foundation James W. Cooper Fellow Program and one of the co-founders and past president of the Connecticut Council for Non-Adversarial Divorce. She is the former chair of the CBA Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee and the immediate past president of the Children’s Law Center of Connecticut.
Among her many accolades, Attorney Aaron has been named a “Super Lawyer” in New England and Connecticut Magazine since 2010 and one of Connecticut’s “Top Attorneys” since 2012. She was appointed as a member of the Judicial Review Council by Governor Malloy in 2013, and has continued to serve in this capacity. Attorney Aaron is also a Justice of the Peace.
As a committed member of the professional community, Attorney Aaron works to change the culture of divorce in our state. Her aim is to help families avoid the damages often associated with and perpetrated by the adversarial system. She authored the Alternative Dispute Resolution Chapter of the 2013 LexisNexis Practice Guide, Connecticut Family Law.
Attorney Aaron received her BA from American University 1979 and her JD from Brooklyn Law School in 1984 where she was a member of the National Moot Court Society.
